Research & Ideas
We at Just Rewards have developed a wealth of knowledge about performance and rewards, not just over many years of experience across diverse client projects, but also from our on-going research and innovation. Here we share our ideas and insights and aim to promote informed debate about performance and rewards, what works and why, and what is redundant and why it has passed its use-by date.
The Pay Fairness Project
Overview
“My pay and benefits are fair for . . . . “ This survey item is typically all the attention that employee engagement surveys pay to remuneration. In 2013 Dennis set out to explore what is meant by “fair” pay and benefits. He began a literature search that culminated in the design and testing of a survey instrument to ascertain employee perceptions of fairness regarding remuneration and performance and the way they are deployed in the workplace.
The Pay Fairness Project is an on-going research effort, with 16 organisations participating to date. The employer is invited to participate and allow employees to complete the on-line Just Rewards Pay on Say survey.
We at Just Rewards provide detailed summary results to the executive group in each participating organisation. The employee responses are added to our rolling database to help Just Rewards better understand what drives pay fairness and why we should take it seriously.
